Each one of us has experienced being in a state of indecision at one point or another in our lives. Heck, some of you may be experiencing it at this very moment!
If you are experiencing this now, how are you feeling? Are you sleeping well? Are you able to focus? Deep down inside, do you feel satisfied with life?
Why does being in a state of indecision cause us to feel drained?
A state of indecision makes us feel like we exist in two realities at the same time. Because we have not made a decision, so mentally and emotionally we are still living in the two realities and in truth, they are more like fantasies rather than realities.
I’m sure you have all read and know enough about positive affirmations and visualisations. Through the exercise of repeating affirmations and visualisations, we are building a mental reality. When we keep our focus on these practices, the mental reality we build in the mental realm eventually becomes a physical reality.
Affirmations and visualisations that we do not practice consciously are also manifesting themselves in the mental and/or emotional realm. If we indulge in negative self-talk or negative imagination on the unconscious levels, we are creating that reality as well. So in a sense, we are competing with ourselves inside our minds and hearts to see which part of us is stronger. Moreover, the challenge is also on the subconscious level, since most of us lack the awareness of how we operate on the subconscious level.
Being in a state of indecision is the same, and more. On top of dealing with the negativity within our subconscious programming, when we are in a state of uncertainty we are pulling ourselves apart mentally and emotionally when we cannot decide on something.
These behaviours impact how our physical being function. As we all know by now, mental stress causes our body to be stressed as well, and it is energy draining because we are using energy to ‘repair’ the imbalance on all levels of our being.
When we are in a state of indecision, you could say that our whole being is trying to ‘repair’ itself by manifesting situations and scenarios to ‘make’ us decide. Hence, life somehow becomes even harder!
The rule of the game of life is: Movement Is Life. This means that we have to keep moving (as such making a bad decision is better than not making one!)
Being in a mode of indecision means we are not moving, we are stationary. Embedded within our psyche, we are meant to create life, we are meant to prolong life and so our entire beingness forces us into situations to make sure we are moving and we are giving ourselves to life, to live. Being in prolonged indecision is allowing ourselves to be in a state of decay. It is anti-life. Have you met someone who is in a state of limbo for decades, because they can’t decide if they should leave their jobs, or their relationships, or move elsewhere etc? How do you feel when you are with them? Do you experience them sapping your energy as well?
Choose life, make decisions. It will only lead us to the path of growth and development, no matter what the outcome is.
